HYPNOTHERAPY IS THE # 1 CAREER CHOICE IN 2011

Working in Hypnotherapy is a wonderful way to make an impressive income while helping others at the same time !  More and more people are discovering Clinical Hypnotherapy and embarking on a quality Hypnotherapy training program.  Many practicing Certified Clinical Hypnotherapists charge $200. plus per 1-hour session, so building a practice is rewarding in many ways.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN A CLINICAL HYPNOTHERAPY CERTIFICATION TRAINING PROGRAM:

  1. A person answers your phone call - getting a scratchy 90's answering machine message isn't a good sign.
  2. Clean, well-done web presence - if their website is from the 90's, it's not a good indicator.
  3. Trainers with professional credentials - experience doesn't guarantee success, but it's a step in the right direction.
  4. Training prices listed on the website - if you have to call to get the price, it's probably too high.

There are many Hypnotherapy training programs available online these days but some are better than others.

We like the New England Institute of Hypnotherapy Clinical Hypnotherapy Certification program in the US and Orcale Institute program in Canada.  Both have been working in this field since the 90's and both have good reputations.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN THE RIGHT CERTIFIED CLINICAL HYPNOTHERAPIST FOR YOU

If you are going to work with a

Certified Hypnotherapist on Weight Management, Stress Reduction, Self Esteem, Pain Management or other extended programs, you need to feel comfortable with him/her.  This is the most important thing to me.  I want to know that this person is kind, competent, and committed to my success.

Finding your perfect Hypnotherapist starts on the phone. Call any referred CHTs first, and then hit the yellow pages or the internet if the first group didn't yield anyone you want to investigate further.  When you find someone you click with, make an appointment to meet at his/her office.  If this individual works out of his house, I'd recommend you not make the appointment, for a lot of reasons.  My primary reason is that I want to work with someone who's made a commitment to professional training and a professional work setting.

You may need to meet one or two to find the person you want to work with.  You may hit it on the first try but it's important to feel a connection with this individual since your success hinges on his abilities, your trust in him/her, and the interaction between the two of you.

Make sure he's got a voice you want to listen to repeatedly (no raspy, gravelly voice)

Make sure that you are comfortable with the fees

Get an estimate of the time required for your application or a session program from him.  Someone who doesn't know how long you and he will be working together may be inexperienced or poorly trained.

The bottom line is to go with your gut.  If you like him/her, go with it.  If you have any doubt at all, keep on looking.  You will find the right person to work with, at the right time.

WHAT DOES AN INDIVIDUAL NEED TO SUCCEED IN HIS OWN CLINICAL HYPNOTHERAPY PRACTICE  ?

  1.  He needs to be well-trained.  A good training gives an individual the skills and confidence to succeed.
  2.  He needs a pleasant speaking voice, to be articulate & to have a manner that inspires confidence in others.
  3.  He needs to enjoy helping people & he needs to be able to put his client first during their time together.
  4.  He needs to be an independent sort who enjoys the freedom of creating his own work schedule.
  5.  He needs some basic marketing and business skills, or access to those who can mentor him in these areas.
  6.  He needs to be money-motivated.  Making money helping others creates a perfect win-win situation for both.
  7.  He needs to be willing to reward his client's trust with his personal commitment to client success.
  8.  He needs a  bit of a financial cushion while the business is growing or the ability to start part-time.
  9.  He needs to understand the mind-body connection and to believe in the power of the human mind.
  10.  Being bright & comfortable with language is a plus, as language choice is key to creating suggestions.
